ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Hi! I'm Ailen, I'm 27 years old and I've been practicing hula hoop for 9 years. I'm from Argentina and I've traveled across Latin America offering workshops and performing my act at various conventions, festivals, and events. In recent years, my focus has been on juggling with hoops because I find the interaction between the air and the objects truly fascinating. This approach was born from applying the knowledge available for clubs and balls to hoops, and I believe that is my greatest contribution to the hulahoop community.
I believe we are always the center of what happens around us, and with juggling (and hoops particularly) it's evident. I'm very excited to share my knowledge.
WORKSHOPS:

EVERYTHING IS ONE -
In this workshop, we’ll dive into the world of hooping using just one hoop, the root of all flow. No matter how many hoops we work with two, three, four or more, every game begins with what’s possible with one. We have a variety of movements: spins, contacts, isolations, balances, throws, and more. Our focus will be on the techniques required to spin the hoop on different parts of the body: hands, arms, feet, legs, neck, waist, elbows, shoulders, hips, and nose.
Through playful interaction with the hoop, we aim to build a connection that is active, fluid, relaxed, and fun. We’ll approach spinning as the foundation of hoop dance, and understand how we become the axis of the movement. This practice offers a wide range of benefits, including: balance, concentrationn, rhythm, mind-body connection, pshycal activity, conscious breathing
Learning how to spin the hoop on different parts of the body not only builds solid technique, it also opens the door to multi-hooping, and deepens our awareness of how our bodies move.
We'll emphasize the importance of conscious technique to ensure our movements are efficient, our hoop stays up, and most importantly, we avoid injuries. That’s why this workshop will also include a guided warm-up to activate the body and a cool-down stretch to release and integrate the practice. This is an invitation to enjoy, explore, and learn with just one hoop, but infinite possibilities.
JUGGLING WITH HOOPS -
Theory & Technique in the Air Level: Open level In this workshop, we’ll explore and learn a variety of technical concepts to support and enrich our training. We’ll cover topics like numerology (patterns), throws, catches, rhythm and timing, spatial awareness, and more. Ideal for anyone who wants to take their hoops to the air and discover the joy of juggling with flow.
